Coby's off to the Nationals

Coby McInerney off to Darwin!

Surf Coast Football Club’s Coby McInerney has been selected in the Under-12 Victorian team and is off to Darwin to compete in the Australian School Championships next month.

Not only that, the Surf Coast Secondary College student has also been selected as a leader in her team, landing the position of vice captain and Coby – who plays in the centre back position – says she can’t wait.

“I just want to go away with all the girls and my family. I’ve never been to Darwin before,” she said.

Coby’s success builds on a growing reputation by this young club. Not only has the boy’s team rocketed up the league with a very young squad, the club is producing some fine female players, with Jade Feakes recently winning a place in the Victorian under 14 girl’s team. Surf Coast FC’s women’s team also currently tops the division 1 league.
