SENIORS
Panton Hill dominated the game against Heidelberg West right from the start at a very muddy Cracknell Reserve in the final home and away clash of the season. The scene was set for Joffa Byron to kick a bag as he picked up plenty of opportunities for shots at goal whilst Zac Williams took some of the pressure off across half forward. With the ton in sight the tension built in the second half with a restricted Heidelberg West unable to to kick a goal for three quarters. However, Zac Williams was off the field with an injured knee in the second half and Byron was triple teamed by The Hawks. In the end a tally of 5 goals took Byron to 96 goals for the season. Benn Parker is also clearly enjoying some injury free football and gathered another best on ground whilst Ryan Byrne also continued to relish the sloppy conditions. Ben Strongman and Rob Guest were great through the centre of the ground and Daniel Pratt played a key role in the ruck. Despite not getting a mention in the best player list yet again playing coach Dean Haydock played a superb wet weather game. The Hills have finished the home and away in first sport for the first time since 1972 and now eagerly await the commencement of finals next week.
RESERVES
The Reserves are hitting form at the right time of the year and ran away with a strong win against Heidelberg West yesterday. Dylan Collins was in scintilating form and finished with 6 goals to end the season in second spot on the league goalkicking table. The usual suspects Brett Aldred and Matt Layt performed well again in the wet along with Andrew Boyle down back. Simon Gunn dropped back from the seniors and showed some good form with Frank Trianta the other key contributor.
