Our Opponents
When we took on Balmain at Blacktown earlier in the season, the game was a thriller, with the Bombers peppering the goals in the last quarter to fall over the line by a point. And this game promises to be another one that goes down to the wire.
The stakes are high. The Bombers are a game clear on the top of the ladder, but there are three clubs a game behind us. Our fate is in our hands, and if we win our last two games, the minor premiership is ours. But a loss in either of those games sees three clubs ready to pounce; and Balmain is one of them.
Div 1 will be looking for a win against Penrith to remain in the finals race.
This is Div 4’s last home & away game for the season. It’s mathematically possible to make the finals, but the Div 4 team will not only need to win by a big margin but be depending on other results. We can’t control the other results; but the team will be looking to do what they can control, which is to finish the home & away season on a positive note.
Greygums Oval
Greygums Oval is on Greygums Road, Cranebrook.
Head west, and get yourself onto the M4.
Exit the M4 at The Northern Road exit at Kingswood and turn right. Go straight ahead past the hospital and past the highway, over the railway line.
A couple of kilometres up the road, turn left at Andrews Road. Take the next right onto Greygums Road. The oval is a few blocks on the left. There’s plenty of car parking on site.
To get there by public transport, get the train to Penrith (trains run direct from the north shore line to Penrith, so you won’t need to change) and then catch the Westbus route 786, which goes along Greygums Road.
Henson Park
Henson Park is on Sydenham Road, Marrickville.
To get there, go through the city, then head along Broadway, turning left at City Road. Go through King St Newtown, and near the station at the fork in the road, take the Enmore Road turn. Continue straight ahead onto Victoria St.
Turn right at Sydenham Road, and the light towers will be visible on the right. Take the driveway into the ground, there is plenty of parking on site.
To get there by public transport, get the train to the city and catch the red M30 Metrobus from York St (if you’re coming from the north-east, that route starts at Spit Junction). The bus will take you to the corner of Victoria St and Sydenham Road, just a couple of blocks from the ground.
