The Three wins by the Senior Club at Knox were fantastic given the ground conditions and tough way Knox play footy on their own paddock, but the highlight of the weekend was certainly the sensational performance of the Under 17’s at Vermont on Sunday when they blew the Rowville Hawks away. They join the Under 15A, the Under 13C and the Under 12B in Grand Finals next Sunday. A wonderful effort by the Junior Club.
The Senior game was a struggle early and it quarter time looked like the previous two times we had come to Knox. But this side is different and a wonderful 7 goal second term, including 4 goals to Adrian Gileno won the game. Two of our very young boys lead the way in Ryan Wilson and Lachie Johns and proven star players like Nathan Henley, Dean Kelly, Dean Millhouse, Grant McCarthy and Ryan Mullett responded when the chips were down.
My big pats on the back went to Travis Bird for an inspired effort in ruck without the injured Robbie Ross. Heath Black for showing everyone how damaging he can be and Dave Edgcumbe for exceptional determination in everything he did.
It was great to see the very tall Simon Taylor on the park ( he came into side when Robbie Ross withdrew ). Only his third game for us this year and he got better and better. His instruction to other players is outstanding.
