Jordan Weir is having a big year as he just turns 18 (Happy Belated Birthday), sharing his playing duties between North Shore , the Swans and U18 NSW/ACT Rams.
Jordan got a taste of senior football last year, playing 2 games in the Premier Division in his first year of U18 football, after coming across from the Manly U16 Bombers. It was evident then, that he could handle playing amongst the highest level. Jordan has progressed through the Talented Player Program and Swans Academy and this year has been given the opportunity to play 7 NEAFL games with the Swans.
This year, has seen Jordan manage a full schedule of competing in the NAB U18 National Championships, where Jordan held down the key defensive role, taking on some of the best junior forwards in the country. Jordan has slotted perfectly into the back 6 at North Shore , featuring in the best players on numerous occasions.
Premier Division Coach Jon Hayres said "Jordan has fitted in well into the back half when available, he adds a lot of flexibility has the height to play on the tall forwards but also the pace and agility to play on a small, equally importantly he is a quality kid. From the clubs perspective it has been really pleasing that the local juniors are really stepping up, Jordan was one of 17 in the starting 22 on Saturday.”
