Gippsland Power Career:
Troy came from the Churchill Football Club and Played 51 games for the Power between 95 and 97. Troy holds the club record of 51 games played. He was Vic Country representative.
After Gippsland Power:
Troy was drafted to the North Melbourne 1999 with pick 81.
He made his debut in 2000.
In 2005 Troy Represented Australia in the International Rules Series.
He played a total of 139 games and kicked 35 goals for the North Melbourne between 2000 -2006.
After playing footy at the highest level Troy has come back home where he coached the Moe Football club between 2008 and 2011.

Gippsland Power Career:
Sean came from the Orbost/Snowy Rovers Football Club and played 18 games with Power in 2002.
He made a huge commitment, travelling from his family home in Mallacootta,
Once he made the list he was assisted by Les Ponton in moving to Morwell and undertaking a traineeship at Kurnai College.
There is no doubt that the travel issue dealt enabled Sean to have an outstanding year
Sean went on to win best first year player award.
After Gippsland Power:
After a successful year with the Power, Sean was taken under the father/son rule to Sydney with pick 34.
Sean made his debut in 2005.
He has had the distinction of playing in five Grand Finals,
Two with Sydney and Three with the St Kilda Football Club.
Sean was a member of the 2005 Sydney Premiership side.
In 2007 he was traded to St Kilda where he played in their 2009 and 2010 Grand Final sides.
To date Sean has played 128 games and kicked 17 goals.

Gippsland Power Career:
Tyson came from the Pakenham F.C. and was late into the Power system coming in as an18 year old.
He played between 2005 and 2006 playing a total of 30 games.
He son played in the 2005 Power Premiership side.
Tyson came back as a 19 year old in 2006 and was the first player drafted under that new rule.
After Gippsland Power:
After a sensational 2006 Tyson was drafted to the Collingwood with pick 63.
He made his debut in 2007.
He received the round 21 NAB Rising Star Nomination.
2010 was a big year for Tyson playing in the Collingwood Premiership side as well as representing Australia at the International Rules series in Ireland.

Half Back Flank: ROBERT MURPHY
Gippsland Power Career:
Rob came from the Warragul F.C. playing as a 17 year old in 99 and played 21 games.
Playing off a half back flank, you always knew when the ball was in his hands it would hit a target. Rob didn’t play in the national carnival but it was in that time he stood up and showed his talents.
Rob played in the 1999 Grand Final side where he really stood up on the big stage.
After Gippsland Power:
Following Robs great season as a 17 year old he was drafted to the Western Bulldogs with pick 13.
He debuted in round 19 of the 2000.
In 2001 Rob started to find his feet as an AFL player and was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star award and also won the Bulldogs Most Promising Player award.
Throughout his career Rob has achieved many accolades.
In 2002 and 2003 he represented Australia in the international rules series,
He won the Bulldogs Best team player in 2003.
In 2008 he represented Victoria in the All Stars game.
Rob had a fantastic year in 2011 finishing in the top five in the Bulldogs best and fairest as well as earning his first All Australian Guernsey.
To date rob has played 215 games and kicked 152 goals.

Centre Half Back: LEIGH BROWN
Gippsland Power Career:
Leigh has been one of the best players to come through Gippsland Power.
He came from the Heyfield F.C. and played between 98 and 99, playing as a 16 year old in 98.
Leigh played a big part in getting the Power into the 99 Grand Final
In 99 Leigh won the club best and fairest, Coach’s Award as well as been named in the TAC CUP team of the year and winning the prestigious TAC CUP Coaches Award.
Leigh also represented Vic Country.
After Gippsland Power:
After Leigh’s tremendous year at Power he was taken pick 5 in the 99 Draft by the Fremantle.
He played 63 games at Fremantle before been traded to the North Melbourne where he played a further 118 games.
At the end of 2008 Leigh was delisted from North Melbourne and Collingwood called his name out at pick 73 in the 2008 draft.
Leigh played a massive roll in the 2010 season for Collingwood as they went on to win the Grand Final.
At the end of 2011 Leigh announced his retirement and took up a position as an Assistant Coach at the Melbourne Football Club.

Half Back Flank: DYSON HEPPEL
Gippsland Power Career:
Dyson came from the Leongatha F.C and participated in the program in 2009 and 10 playing 36 games.
In 2009 Dyson was award Powers best first year player.
Dyson represented Vic Country at the 2010 National Carnival where his performances earned him All Australian honours.
By the end of 2010 season Dyson as Captain had taken the Power into the 2010 Grand Final, won the TAC Cup most prestigious award the Morrish Medal, was named in the TAC CUP team of the year and won Gippsland Powers Best and Fairest Award.
After Gippsland Power:
Essendon was the club that took him at pick 8 in the 2010 draft ,the club he barracked for as a young boy.
He made his debut round 1. 2011.
His first year was outstanding.
After collecting 21 disposals in his first game he was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award.
At year’s end Dyson won numerous awards none bigger than the NAB AFL Rising Star award /Ron Evans Medal
He was named AFLPA’s best first year player voted by all players in the league and also won Essendon’s best first year player.
To cap off an amazing first year Dyson came seventh in Essendon’s best and fairest.

Gippsland Power Career:
David came from the Heyfield F.C. and played at Power in 97 and 98 playing 20 games.
He was an explosive half back flanker, wingman for the Power.
In 1998 he represented Vic Country at the National Championships.
After Gippsland Power:
At the National Draft it was the Geelong who took the lighting quick Wojcinski at pick 24.
He made his debut 1999 and became a very damaging player for the cats off the half back with his run and taking the opposition on.
In 2004 David was named Geelong’s Most Improved Player.
In 2010 and 2011 he represented Australia in the international rules series.
David is now a triple Premiership player for the cat’s playing a key role in the 2007, 2009 and 2011 premierships.

Gippsland Power Career:
Brendon came from the Traralgon F.C. and represented Power from 2001 and 02 playing 12 games.
In 2001 Brendon played a handful of games as a 16 year old.
In 2002 Brendon represented Vic Country.
With an outstanding carnival Brendon received All Australian Honours being selected in the centre.
It was this carnival that had Brendon touted as the number 1 pick in the AFL National Draft.
After Gippsland Power:
2002 National Draft saw St Kilda with the number 1 pick select Brendon.
He debuted in 2003 while still doing his VCE.
In 2004 Brendon was part of the St Kilda Pre-Season Premiership.
In 2006 he Represented Australia in the International rules series.
In 2009 Brendon became a premier player of the AFL and was honoured with an All Australian selection.
He played in the 2009 Grand Final for St Kilda and was runner-up in the best and fairest.
In 2010 Brendon became a big part of St Kilda’s march towards the finals.
Brendon was runner up to Lenny Hayes in the polling for the Norm Smith medal in the 2010 drawn Grand Final.
2010 also saw him awarded with a second All Australian jumper. He also finished third in their best and fairest.

Gippsland Power Career:
Dale came from the Drouin F.C. and played for Gippsland in 2004 and 05 playing 34 games.
In 2005 Dale represented Vic Country at the National Championships
He had exceptional carnival and was award with an All Australian honours.
Dale played a hugh part in getting Gippsland Power into the 2005 Grand Final and on the day Dale stamped his authority as a future star kicking 4 goals and having 20 disposals in a best on ground performance.
Dale was selected the TAC CUP Team of the year, capping off a tremendous season.
After Gippsland Power:
Collingwood called out his name with pick 2 in the 2005 National Draft.
He debuted in round 1 2006 against the Adelaide Crows.
Round 2 came along and Dale was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star award which at season end he was runner-up in this prestigious award to Marc Murphy.
Also that year Dale was Collingwood’s best first year player.
From years 2006 to 09 Dale worked hard to break into the Collingwood midfield.
It was the year 2010 that Dale had a breakout season being a massive part of the Collingwood 2010 Premiership side.
He also finished third in Collingwood’s Best and Fairest.
In 2011 Dale took his game to another level receiving his first All Australian honours and was named best player for Collingwood in their 2011 Grand Final loss and finished third in Collingwood’s Best and Fairest.

Half Forward Flank: GREG TIVENDALE
Gippsland Power Career:
Greg came to Power from the ROC F.C. playing in 96 and 97 for 33 games.
Greg played on the wing or half-forward flank and had two consistent seasons.
Greg took the eye of a lot of scouts with his penetrating left foot.
After Gippsland Power:
Following Greg’s 1997 season he was Rookie Listed to the Richmond.
He was elevated to the senior list in 98 debuted in that season.
Greg was noted for talents including his long-kicking and long-range goals off his left boot.
In Round 20, 2006, as the Tigers defeated Carlton by 45 points, Greg was awarded the second Terry Wallace Medal for best afield.
Greg ended his AFL career after 188 games and kicking 125 goals in an 11-year stint at Richmond.

Centre Half Forward: MARK STEVENS
Gippsland Power Career:
Mark came from the Heyfield F.C. in 1993, the first year Gippsland participated in the TAC CUP.
He played 14 games at Centre Half Forward.
Mark had a sensational year winning both Gippsland Powers and the TAC Cup goal kicking Award.
He was also selected in the TAC CUP Team of the year at Full Forward.
Mark was the first Gippsland Power player for be drafted.
After Gippsland Power:
Following a fantastic 1993 season it was the North Melbourne who called Marks name out at pick 31.
Mark made his debut in 1995 for North.
At the end of the 1997 season Mark was traded to the Adelaide Football Club where he played a major role in their 1998 Premiership side.
Injury plagued Mark’s career and he retired at the end of the 2005 season playing a total of 122 games kicking 123 goals.

Half Forward Flank: JASON WINDERLICH
Gippsland Power Career:
Jason came from the Thorpdale F.C. representing Power in 2001 and 02 playing a total of 28 games.
Jason’s 2001 season was interrupted by injury which resulted in limited games played.
In 2002 Jason worked hard to get his body right and had a sensational season with the Power.
He represented Vic Country, was named in the TAC CUP Team of the year, came runners up in Powers Best and Fairest and was awarded the Coaches Award that year as well.
After Gippsland Power:
Jason was taken with pick 11 in the 2002 National Draft by Essendon.
Throughout his career Jason has had to deal with some near career ending injuries. However through his persistence and dedication he has managed to keep his career going.
2009 saw the best of Jason Winderlich with his dashing runs down the MCG’s wings. Jason was best on ground in the Dream Time at the “G”.
He polled the most votes for Essendon in the Brownlow with 10 votes and also finished fifth in the clubs best and fairest.
Again 2010 was a consistent year for Jason.
Round 4 of 2011 Jason did his ACL which put him out for the year.
Jason is now ready to play again and we wish all the best.
He has played 98 games to date kicking 46 goals.

Forward Pocket: ANDREW MCQUALTER
Gippsland Power Career:
Andrew came from the Traralgon F.C. representing Power from 2002 till 04 playing 16 games.
He was only 16 in 2002 playing in the centre and gaining 25 plus possessions.
Andrew was a private school boy who attended Caulfield Grammar.
In 04 Andrew was voted MVP for the finals series.
He Represented Vic Country in 2003 and 2004 and was named Captain in 2004 but unfortunately got injured in the first game and missed the rest of the carnival.
After Gippsland Power:
Andrew was drafted at pick 17 to St Kilda in the 2004 National Draft.
Andrew made his debut in 2005 playing well in his first game.
Andrew play in St Kilda’s 2009 Pre - Season Premiership and there 2009 Grand Final side.
He played in their 2010 Grand Final draw and replay against Collingwood.
In 2012 Andrew has joined the Gold Coast Suns.
He has played 91 games to date.

Full Forward: JARRYD ROUGHEAD
Gippsland Power Career:
Jarryd played for Gippsland Power in 2003 and 04 coming from the Leongatha F.C., playing a total of 16 games.
In 2003 Jarryd played as a 16 year old and showed everyone around the club how exciting he can be. During 2004 Jarryd Represented Vic Country.
At year’s end Jarryd had made the TAC CUP Team of the year, won Gippsland Power’s Goal Kicking and Most Improved Awards.
After Gippsland Power:
As a 17 year old Jarryd was picked number 2 by Hawthorn.
Jarryd made his debut in Round 19 of 2005 kicking 5 goals and gaining a the Rising Star nomination.
In 2007 Jarryd took his game to another level kicking 40 goals.
In 2008 the duo of Roughead and Franklin were amazing with Jarryd kicking 75 goals and playing a massive part in the Premiership for the Hawks.
Jarryd kicked a career high 8 goals in 2009 against Carlton.
He is the current Vice Captain of the Hawthorn Football Club.
He has kicked 254 Goals and played 143 games to date.

Gippsland Power Career:
John came through Gippsland in years 2007 to 09 playing 28 games. His home club was the Maffra F.C.
John played as a 16 year old in 2007 and showed everyone his capabilities.
He represented Vic Country in 2008 and 2009 and was very unlucky not to get All Australian Honours.
At the end of the 29 season John was selected in the 2009 TAC CUP Team of the year.
After Gippsland Power:
Johns’ outstanding year as an 18 year old saw Port Adelaide draft him at pick 8 in the 2009 National Draft.
He made his debut in 2011 and kicked 6 straight goals.
John has been plagued with injury while at Port Adelaide, however has really impacted late in 2011
We all know that John is a prodigious talent and we are yet to see the very best of him.

Ruck: NATHAN VARDY
Gippsland Power Career:
Nathan played with the DWWWW (Allies) F.C. before joining Power for 2008 and 2009 playing 23 games.
He had two fantastic season representing Vic Country in 2009 at the National Carnival.
Nathan excited crowds with his fantastic Arial marking and speed around the ground.
For a 200cm player Nathan is extremely quick and agile.
After Gippsland Power:
It was Geelong who took him with pick 42 in the 2009 National draft.
Nathan made his debut in 2011, and the Geelong loved the way he went about things.
He played 9 games in his debut season.
Nathan has suffered a major hip injury that has required multiple surgery, and is only getting back to playing now.
If he could make his way back he could have an influence in the finals

Ruck Rover: SCOTT PENDLEBURY
Gippsland Power Career:
Scott came from the Sale F.C. to play at Gippsland Power in 2005, playing 19 games.
Scott was a brilliant player for the Power in 2005.
Scott represented Vic Country at the national championships.
He was a classy wingman for Power and was an important member of the Premiership side.
Scott won best First Year Player in 2005.
After Gippsland Power:
At the 2005 national draft it was the Collingwood who took Scott with pick 5.
Scott’s Career to date has been sensational.
He debuted in 2006 and in 2007 was the round 4 nominee for the NAB Rising Star award and came runners up to Joel Selwood in the award that year.
He was also runners up in the Collingwood Best and Fairest that year.
In 2008 Scott came third in Collingwood’s best and fairest.
In 2009 collected the most votes in the Brownlow for Collingwood with 13 votes and once again was runners up in Collingwood’s Best and Fairest.
In 2010 Scott was All Australian, won the Norm Smith Medal for best on ground in Collingwood’s 2010 Premiership.
In 2011 Scott again took his game to another level by winning his first Collingwood best and fairest and collecting 24 votes in the Brownlow.
Scott won back to back ANZAC Day medals in 2010 and 2011.
He has played 134 games to date.

Gippsland Power Career:
Jarryd came from the Wonthaggi F.C. to the Gippsland Power program in years 2007 and 2008.
Jarryd was a classy rover.
He had two brilliant years at Power that saw him in 2008 win the Morrish Medal make the TAC CUP Team of the year, win Gippsland’s Best and Fairest and represent Vic. Country at the National Carnival.
After Gippsland Power:
Following Jarryd’s brilliant 08 season at Power, it was Collingwood that took him in the 2008 Rookie Draft.
Jarryd played a year at VFL level with Collingwood before he made his senior debut for the Pies in 2010.
Jarryd played in Collingwood’s 2010 Premiership side.
At the end of the year he was rewarded with a spot on their senior list.
Jarryd has worked super very hard to get where he has and it is testimony to his drive and dedicatiorn.
Jarryd is playing a big roll is Collingwood’s push towards finals this year and in Michael Malthouse’s words in very underated.
Jarryd has played 50 games to date and kicked 43 goals.
In 2011 his finished in the top ten in Collingwood’s Best and Fairest.

Interchange: LACHLAN HANSEN
Gippsland Power Career:
Lachlan came from the Nar Nar Goon F.C. playing at Power in 2005 and 2006.
In 2005 Lachlan was a member of the AIS who played against Ireland in the international rules, represented Vic Country at the National Championships, was part of the 2005 Premiership Team holding down the Centre Half Back position.
In 2006 Lachlan again Played Vic Country at the National Championships, was Selected in the All Australian Side for his outstanding carnival and was picked in the 2006 TAC CUP Team of the year.
After Gippsland Power:
After his outstanding year Lachlan was pick 3 to the North Melbourne in 2006 National Draft.
Lachlan made his debut round 3 of 2007.
Lachlan is very versatile and a terrific athlete.
He has played 67 games and kicked 47 goals to date.
Lachlan is going be a super player in the AFL for years to come.

Gippsland Power Career:
Dylan came from the Sale F.C. to represent Gippsland in year’s 99 and 2000.
Dylan had a fantastic year in 1999 as a 17 year old and played a big role in getting Gippsland into the Grand Final.
2000 Dylan represented Vic Country in the National Carnival and assisted the Power into another finals series.
After Gippsland Power:
Dylan was taken in the 2001 Pre Season draft at Number 9 by the Brisbane Lions.
He made his debut for the lions in 2001.
Dylan was part of Brisbane’s 2004 Grand Final side that played Port Adelaide.
After the 2005 Season Dylan was traded to the Carlton Football Club and made his debut for the Blues in 2006.
All up Dylan played 59 games and kicked 10 goals. He now play’s back at his local club of Sale.

Gippsland Power Career:
Stephen had an outstanding Gippsland Power career coming from the Traralgon F.C..
He came through the system in years 97 to 99 playing 38 games for the club.
In 1998 as a 17 year old Stephen represented Vic Country in the National championships, won Gippsland Power’s Best and Fairest, won the Clubs Coaches Award, was named in the TAC CUP Team of the year and won the prestigious TAC CUP Coaches Award.
In 1999 Stephen was named joint Captain with Leigh Brown of the Gippsland Power.
Once again Stephen represented Vic Country and was Captain of the side.
He played a massive part in getting Gippsland into the 99 Grand Final side where he was in the best 6 on the day.
At the end of 99 Stephen again made the TAC CUP Team of the year and won Gippsland Powers Best Team Player.
Stephen had a sensational Gippsland Power Career.
After Gippsland Power:
Stephen went on to have a sensational career with Belconnen in the ACT Football League playing in their 2002, 2003 and 2004 Premierships.
In 2004 he won the League Best and Fairest and was awarded Best Player afield in that Grand Final. He has gone onto play and coached very successfully at local level.
Interchange: LUKE ABLETT
Gippsland Power Career:
Luke came from the Drouin F.C. to Power in 2000 playing 15 games for the club.
He was a lighting quick wingman and was a penetrating kick.
In 2000 Luke represented Vic Country at the National Carnival, and had an outstanding carnival. Luke played a big part for the Power in 2000 going into their finals series and showed why he would go onto be a brilliant player at AFL level.
After Gippsland Power:
After Power it was the Sydney who took Luke with their number 24 pick in the 2000 national draft.
Luke debuted in 2002 and in 2005 played a significant role in Sydney winning their first Premiership in 73 years.
He did some huge tagging roles for the club but also got plenty of the footy himself.
Our current coach Nick Stevens said he was the hardest player to play on because he was so strong in the contest.
Luke played in Sydney’s 2006 Grand Final side where they lost by 1 point.
Luke went on to play 133 games between 2002 and 2009.

Gippsland Power Career:
Jason came to Gippsland as a 17 year old in 2001 from the Sale F.C. playing 21 games for the club.
He played mostly on the wing or half back.
His improvement throughout the year was massive.
Jason had a impressive final series and won Power’s Most Improved player for the 2001 season.
After Gippsland Power:
After Power Jason was drafted to the Brisbane Lions with pick19 in the 2001 draft.
He played 2 games for Brisbane before he was traded to the St Kilda Football Club in 2004.
In 2006 Jason finished Runners Up in the Saints Best and Fairest.
In 2008 Jason was part of St Kilda’s Pre Season Premiership and won the Michael Tuck Medal for best on ground.
Jason again was part of St Kilda’s pre season Premiership in 2009.
He played in St Kilda’s 2009 and 2010 Grand Final sides.

Gippsland Power Career:
Xavier came to Power from the Lakes Entrance F.C, in years 2004 and 05 playing 16 games.
Xavier was a private school boy who went to Melbourne Grammar School.
He played as a 16 year old in 2004 playing off the half back line.
In 2005 Xavier represented Vic Country at the National Carnival where he received All Australian honours for an outstanding carnival.
Xavier played in the 2005 Power Premiership side taking one of the marks of the day.
After Gippsland Power:
In the 2005 National draft it was the Hawthorn Club who took the 17 year old left footer.
Xavier made his debut in 2007 and won Hawthorns best first year player.
He was part of Hawthorns 2008 Premiership and was very unlucky not to win the Norm Smith Medal.
Since that day Xavier has a seen injury which his kept him off the ground for long periods of time. We all hope Xavier can get back out soon to show off his talents.
Xavier has played 78 games to date kicking 22 goals.

Gippsland Power Career:
Brent came for the Kilcunda Bass F.C. and played with Power in seasons 2005 and 06 playing 25 games.
Brent was hampered by injury in 2005 so we didn’t see the best of him.
In 2006 Brent blossomed into one of the league’s best forwards winning the league goal kicking with 70 goals.
He also was named in the 2006 TAC CUP Team of the year at Full Forward.
After Gippsland Power:
It was the Collingwood who took Brent in the 2006 Rookie Draft with pick 26.
In 2008 Brent was named best Collingwood VFL Player.
In 2009 Brent was put onto Collingwood’s senior list and made his debut in the same season.
Brent became a pivotal part of Collingwood’s forward structure.
He played in Collingwood’s 2010 Premiership side.
Coach: PAUL HUDSON
At Power:
Paul was appointed coach of Power in 2005 and took the club to its only Premiership played at the MCG.
In 2006 Paul took the Power to another finals series only to be beaten in a very close preliminary final.
Paul did an excellent job in his two years at Gippsland Power.
He was a very popular and respected figure around the club and remains very loyal to Gippsland Power to this day.
After Power:
After Paul’s two years at the power he went to the Brisbane Lions and worked as an assistant to Leigh Matthews.
After two years at the Lions Paul moved back to Melbourne and went to the Collingwood and was there during the 2010 Premiership year.
Paul is now at the St Kilda where he works as a Development Coach.
