Congratulations to Stratford on their first foray into East Gippy football and netball showing that they will be very competitive across all grades by winning 6 from 8 and in doing so creating plenty of interest for the 2012 season.
Today we venture to Lakes looking for wins in all matches; head in for a drink after the game then back to the Bowls Club for our awards and dinner.

Saturday Football
Our 3rds boys found the going tough going down by 6 goals.
Best: A Snowden, M Irish, K Laudani, C Ingram, A Armit, A Lawrence, R Coles
The Reserves went down by 2 goals in very hot conditions with most of the side unknown to each other.
Best: B Woodward, J Van Reyk, J Twite, D Simmons, H Porter, M Harrison, J Petrac
The seniors started well, then got a bit slack not manning up or paying their opponent’s enough respect, given there was a lot of new players it was always going to be a hard hit out first up.
Best: D Cox, K Cook, P Collier, M Dick, L Kennedy, R Harrison, D Vicary
Netball:
The Stratford girls came out strong in the the D Grade netball clash, our girls tried hard to put the pressure back on however the Stratford attacking end were out in full force. Ruby Bennett, Emmy Williams and Paityn Chambers played well for the Cats.
C Reserve were the only winners on the netball court this week a great team effort from all the girls taking home a 26 goal win, Tash Walker and Sharnie Nation played well.
C Grade tried hard against a tough Stratford side but unfortunately couldn’t keep up, final score Lindenow 14 Stratford 38, Meg Redenbach and Amy Hammond fought hard all game.
B Grade played a well, hard fought game against a strong and competitive Stratford side unfortunately going down by seven goals in the final quarter. Chelsie White played a dominant game in defence and Carrie Ovenden played well in goals.
A Grade couldn’t quite find their feet in the first half of the game finding themselves 10 goals down by quarter time, however the girls managed to regroup and apply pressure in the second half. Final score Lindenow 41 Stratford 42. Bec Whelan and Alyshia Murphy played well in defence.
