Mulwala 2nd played 3rd placed Deniliquin, in a must win game. Very tight for three quarters then came away with a four goal win, 47-43. Great team game. Breeza and Emily dominated the defence end with 47 intercepts between them. Nat and Molly never gave up driving hard and feeding the goalers beautifully. Young Jess stepped up again from U17 and shot beautifully. Tayla held well in the ring giving the feeders plenty of options. Casey came on in the second half and shut down the shooter with her gadget arms pulling in plenty of balls. Well done girls. A tight competition today with a tall Deni side testing our quick players. Shooting combinations of Jess and Clare, and Jess and Nat competed and moved beautifully in the ring. Our defence and talk the whole way down the court, and great running and passing by Courtney, Morgan, Mia and Kandy kept great pressure on Deni, but they kept fighting and didn’t give up. Deni came back hard in the fourth quarter. Consistent defence from Hannah and Tori plus everyones mid court running and consistent shooting from Nat and Jess saw us come away with a good 4 goal win. Final score 37-33. (Ness is looking hot in her new winter jackets’). Ash Blake Beauty Therapy Award to Hannah Clarke, Lakeside Kebabs Award to Courtney McDonald and Nosh Deli Award to Nat Wood.

A good strong game by the U12’s this week against a tough opposition. Chloe, Lauren and Jordy combined well in goals, incorporating more screens into their game and driving hard into the ring. Abbey and Ash fed the goalers well, driving centre and re-offerring constantly to be an option around the goal circle. Maddy cemented the WD position and started to front-cut as an option down the court. Once again Hayli and Alaina provided strength in defence, not allowing the Deni goalers many scoring opportunities. A great team effort and an absolute pleasure to coach, especially when you can see what we do at training incorporated into the game. Looking forward to a tough game against Finley next week. Final score 28-13. Salon One2One Award to Abbey Hicks, Mulwala Pharmacy Award to Chloe Bogle and Lake Mulwala Sports Club Award to Ash Churchin.
