One of Kris Barlow’s aims this year was to regain respect from the other Clubs, something that over the past 2 seasons, we had lost. After a big win over Croydon Saturday, we sit 4th on ladder and more importantly 4 games clear of the 6th side, with 6 games to play. I think all other sides will look at an approaching Vermont game with a great deal of respect.
We now have some big games coming up that give us the real opportunity to push for a top three spot or better. Starting with Norwood at home this Saturday. We urge all Vermont supporters to get to the game and really give us a home ground advantage.
Saturday we had another debutant in Shane Davidson in the seniors and the boy did OK. He is also the second of our current Under 19’s to be promoted. This continues the current trend of players holding senior spots after playing numbers of games in Reserves this season and last. Players such as Travis Bird, Andy Ellis, Lachie Ryan, Xavier Barry-Murphy, Jason Youssef, Lachlan Johns, Brad Jordan. Reserves Coach, Jeff Rudd prefers to think of his team as “The Factory”. Let’s hope he can keep up production, it is very exciting time for our younger players.
