SENIORS
Pitcher Park isn't a great hunting ground for Panton Hill with last years loss on the ground a thumping half way through the season. Things didn't start well again for the Redbacks trailing by 3 points at quarter time despite kicking with the wind. It was goal for goal for the first half of the quarter, but then things clicked in to place for The Hills with a some strong drive from half back from coach Dean Haydock returning from a 4 week overseas trip late Friday night. Joffa Byron, being well held for the first quarter and a half kicked five goals in ten minutes to have 6 goals by half time and the Hills with a comfotbale lead. From there The Redback continued to assert their dominance to evcentually finish 123 points in front. Joffa Byron finished with another nine goals and actually unselfishly gave a couple off in the second half. He was well supported by Brendan O'Connor with five goals. Lauchie Pearson continued to get better and played some really hard football. Benn Parker continued his scintialting form with yet another best on ground and was supported by youngsters Anthony Bryce and Kelley Le Gassick continuing on from last week. With some key players yet to come back into the side there is an opportunity for a weeks rest to regroup at Cracknell Reserve next week for the family day before a big match against Mernda the following week.
RESERVES
The reserves consolidated a spot inside the four on Saturday with a strong win in difficult conditions against Parkside. Early in the game Panton Hill were able to score quickly with the breeze against the undermanned Parkside team. Against the breeze it was a different story but again Dylan Collins was able to stand tall and convert the much needed goals into the wind. Matthew Layt continued his strong form with a BOG performance and was well backed up by David Walton, Andrew Boyle and Andrew Jackson with Jimmy Anderson also doing everything required. Now we have the bye then the last four weeks we prepare for finals. Go Hillers!
