Seven wins from eight games last weekend against Orbost was an excellent results for the Club. With all eight sides still in contention for finals appearances, the next six matches will be huge for Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club.
Last week was a great day both on and off the field. Obviously the success of the playing group was something that we desired, but it was the success off the field that really stole the show. Jodie Simpson from Melon’s Cottage managed to raise well in advance of $2000 on the day and add to that the pre commitment of $1300, the Melon’s Cottage managed to generate $3500! Jodie was overwhelmed and lost for words when the final total was reached. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and merchandise, chipped in with the head shaving and to the playing group that donated their own funds as well as their footy awards. Special thanks also to DC and Bully for umpiring the Reserves and shaving their heads for the cause. It really did show a huge amount of community spirit and that the Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club will continue to strive to be an important part of the Lakes Entrance community.
Congratulations to Gerard and Jody Kennedy on the safe arrival of Cooper Gerard born 2nd July. Mum and baby are doing well while Dad managed to cap off a huge week with 13 goals in the afternoon and a couple of quiet ones into the evening to celebrate.
Good to see Katie Carstairs has the kids doing some reading during the school holidays. The kids were under the impression it was a book about colours – The 50 Shades of Grey. Perhaps not!
Don’t forget to get your tickets to the Ball for next Saturday night in the Central Function Room. $25 per person – great band and finger food all night. Semi-formal dress. It will be huge!
Big games this weekend against WyYung followed by Dinner and Awards at the Central.
Go Seagulls!
