The day started badly with the U 18 div1 Cup game cancelled, but opportunity knocked for a number of the U 18 this week with 6 Playing reserves and 3 Playing with the Lions reserves on Sunday at the nest.
The Reserves had a number of changes and took some time to get their act together,but like they have over the past weeks they played a great second half and ran out comfortable winners, and a big tick to the development program as the youngsters all adapted to the step up in competition.Well done team and coaches.
The main game saw 1 play 2 and everyone was looking forward to the challenge and I can say the general expectation from the supporters was this would be Palm Beach's day with all the outs and team changes being made by the Pies .
Well what a game 13 points down at 1/4 time scores level at 1/2 time and 3/4 time and 10 mins into the last Quarter the Pies where 23 points down after a rush of Goals from Palm Beach.
Things where not looking good.But the boys managed to get it all togther and showed great character, pride and football skills to come back and run out winners by 15 points it really was a great come back Well done Team. On for the books as it rates well as one the the clubs best ever.

Sunday and the Lions Reserves took on Mt Gravatt at the Nest.
The Lions had 3 of our under 18's and one senior u 21 playing so another tick for our development program.
A big thanks to Lions who ran out comfortable winners on the day
Over all a very enjoyable week end of football at the nest.
