The Werribee Football Club and its social venue The Tigers Clubhouse recently handed seven defibrillator units to local clubs free of charge. The recipients were Werribee Cricket Club, Werribee Centrals Sports Club, Glenorden Sports Club, Laverton Cricket Club, Old Westbourne Football Club, Hoppers Crossing Netball Association and Werribee Giants Baseball Club. This is part of the ongoing community commitment of both the Werribee Tigers and the Tigers Clubhouse with more than $20,000 spent on the machines.
Tigers Clubhouse General Manager Julie Shelton and Werribee CEO Mark Penaluna handed out the units and clubs were then involved in a training session. Mark Penaluna speaking on behalf of both organisations said “ We believe this is an important part of our community programs and helps local clubs to be better equipped to assist their members and supporters at no cost to them. This is on top of our Tiger Sports Assist Program which is underway now and will see $50,000 shared between local sports clubs who sign up before June 30th”. The Werribee Football Club and the Tigers Clubhouse Sports Assist Program is now in its third year and has already handed out $100,000 to participating clubs.
