This Saturday 30th June the Mt Burr United Football Club will be holding a Breast Cancer Awareness and fund raising day.
Club spokesman Stephen Finch said, “Several of our members and supporters have been recently affected by breast cancer. The club was recently approached by one of its members Aaron Gregory who’s family have been affected by the disease and the club was asked to hold a fundraising day”.
The date was set for this Saturday and with Mt Burr playing Pt MacDonnell there should be a large crowd in attendance for what should be the MSE match of the round.
All players in all grades will be wearing pink arm bands throughout the day and there will be collection tins at the gate and around the ground.
The A grade will play with a pink ball which will be signed by the players and auctioned off back in the Mt Burr clubrooms that evening. All proceeds raised during the day and from the ball auction will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help with their vital research for prevention and cure.
So if you are heading to Mt Burr this Saturday patrons are asked to dig deep and make a donation for this most important cause.
