BLACKSTARS SUPER SKILLS CAMP
On the 3rd June 2012 Blackstars Basketball conducted their annual Super Skills Camp. The camp was held at RSL stadium and attended by over 90 kids. The kids where taken through drills and skills by 2011 BQ Coach of the Year Shane Froling and other coaches from our club. The children were treated to having Todd Blanchfield from Townsville Crocodiles, Rachel Flanagan from the Townsville Fire and Australian Opal assist with coaching and signing of autographs for a few hours.
The camp also had our very own Blackstars Stars and U18 Australian representative twins Alicia and Keely Froling who helped our U8 and U10’s. The kids learnt shooting techniques, passing, offensive concepts and defensive concepts. The kids all had a great time and learnt a great deal. Blackstars Committee would like to thank all those who volunteered and assisted on the day at the camp. The committee would also like to thank the coaches who attended at the camp for giving up their time to coach. Finally, would like to thank Shane Froling from BASKETBALLSTAR for his expert coach during all sessions at the camp.
