AN APPRAISAL OF THE SEASON SO FAR FROM DEAN HAYDOCK:
As round 7 approaches and the bye once again looms, the Panton Hill Football Club has put themselves in a very strong position within the Division 3 competition. We have now played every team once and remain undefeated, on top of the ladder. It is with great credit that I give to the players who put in a huge pre-season of ball work and running that have consequently allowed them to achieve the success that they so far have.
Shane Lyons as Assistant Coach has been doing a remarkable job from the bench and has single handedly orchestrated such moves as putting "Joffa" Byron to FF and creating a tagger out of young Josh Chapman, all with immediate success. Some new players to the club that includes Ben Strongman, Robbie Guest, Zac and Abe Williams and Simon Amore have immediately found their feet and added new dimensions to the team. Their hard work, talk, ball movement and never say die attitude has worked perfectly with the run and poise of such players as Benn Parker, Jayson Darcy Molloy, Brent Thorn and Brendan O'Connor.
The club also looks forward to the imminent return of last years "B&F" winner "Teddy" Kreymborg who has missed much of the year with a split webbing. He is only weeks away from returning and the club is once again looking forward to his strong ruck work and movement around the ground.
In closing, the playing group and coaching staff know that there is a long, hard road ahead of them. Opposition sides will be keener than ever to take our scalp. However, the collective group also know that with hard work and dedication much can be achieved together and if all goes to plan we should be right there amongst it come September.
