The Seniors and Ressies venture to leafy Glen Iris this weekend, waving to yours truly as they head up Burke Rd. Invariably heavy under foot from the Gardiners Creek overflow T.H King Reserve is the venue for a BIG Saturday in Bloods footy. We take on a club that is undefeated in both grades but one that we have a reasonable record against over the last few years. One of the more memorable wins was at their old Righetti Oval where a hugely undermanned magenta and black outfit scored a memorable 6 goal victory. I think it was 2009 but I can clearly recall belting out the song in those tiny rooms. It can be repeated!
The seniors will be looking to bounce back while the ressies will be aiming to continue their good run of recent form. They were too good for Werribee last week and only just lost to Beauy the week before. The "ones" are capable of knocking off the top side but will have to bring their A game.
The U/19s take on Weribbee down there at Soldier's Reserve - the scene of their earlier round one victory. The boys were better last week but just need to avoid giving the opposition easy scoring opportunities. They can go into this match with confidence. Another earlu start however with the game commencing at 9.20am.
The School First XVIII take on Geelong Grammar at Keysborough this Saturday and will also be looking to get back in the winners circle.
Good Luck to all teams and also those that may be playing VAFA representative football. At the time of typing, selections hadn't been announced.
