The mighty Roos posted some great results across the board last weekend when they travelled to Springwood.
The Seniors snared their first win of the season 17.16.118 to 12.12.84.
The boys up forward shared the load with Jared Clark booting five, Jarrod Raun kicking four, with Andrew Marskell-Dunston and Dylan Weikhardt slotting home three each to contribute their fair share to the win.
The best three players on the ground went to David Moore, James Page and Jarrod Raun who had a massive day out.
The Reserves unfortunately could not come away with the same result going down in straight sets 15.11.101 to 3.6.24.
Peter Ldskes, Aaron Marr and Jesse Goldfinch all put solid efforts around the grounds to pop up in the best on ground honours.
The Under 18s Division One boys once again asserted their dominance over the competition with a 20.23.143 to 3.3.21 win over the boys from Springwood.
Coming off a convincing win over the Western Magpies in round six the young Roos are continually demonstrating their ability to execute awesome on-field performances to reflect their hard work on the training track.
Young centre and forward, Hayden Smoothey said that the boys are playing really well as team and it is paying off on the field.
“One of our major team strengths is working together and adjusting to different team positions as well as following instructions,” Smoothey said.
“Each of the boys has different roles to execute and they consistently play their part every week which is what most coaches are after.
“I think we are playing really good footy across the board and performing in all four quarters against top and bottom teams in the competition.”
Smoothey said that at the start of the season the focus was on really performing as a team while constantly improving individual player development.
“As a team at the start of the year we knew where we wanted to be sitting in the competition, top two, and we knew that to be considered serious contenders we needed to be a well oiled team unit,” Smoothey said.
“It is good to be able to run out on the field and know that all of the boys will do their thing, week in and week out to back you up.”
The Division Two Under 18s also had a good win over the Bribie Island Bulldogs 16.7.103 to 7.8.50 in a solid display of accurate kicking.
Zac Favell, William Kristelly and Dillon Walker were amongst the best on the ground for the Roos with exceptional performances around the footy.
The Division Four boys accounted for the Pomona Demons with a 31 point victory, 7.13.55 to 3.6.24.
Adam Middleton, Mitchell Reading and Matthew Stanley all put in a hard day at the office to be in the top three best on ground performers.
