President's Report For 2011-2012 Season

FOR: THE MEMBERS, COMMITTEE AND PLAYERS OF CAMPBELLTOWN CITY QUAKE FUTSAL CLUB

Please accept this as my first ever Presidents Report.

There is not much more that can be said about our 2011-12 season that hasn’t already been said, talked about, applauded, acclaimed, discussed, praised, or something similar.

It has been the best season in our Clubs history: 1 premiership, 3 runners up and 3 minor top 4 placings, from a total of 9 competing teams. Add to this all these qualifying teams played in the preliminary grand final rounds, 5 of which playing in their respective grand finals, and to top it off, 4 successful Grand Final winning sides.

The FNSW Presentation night further exploded the accolades where we collected not only the trophies for the above, but add another 4 individual awards to an already impressive tally. Everyone involved with Quake’s 2011-12 campaign, regardless of results were part of our Clubs most successful year ever and every coach, manager, player, official, parent, grand parent and spectator can be proud of their contribution.

Our 2 remining sides can also be proud of their season and the future looks bright for these young teams. It is my sincere hope that all these players will return next year to further their Futsal skills.

People have approached me post season and wanted to know what I had done differently to previous years . The simple answer was very little apart from philosophy, I put our success down to the many years our administrators have toiled away at creating our great Club as it is today, and 2011-12 was the culmination of all that long term planning. Following on it is vital that all those involved throughout the years be acknowledged as being an integral part of this years results.

The future brings with it challenges unrealised in the past.

Costs need to be kept in check, but most importantly an income stream needs to be maintained for our Club to remain viable in the long term.

It is also more than possible that our long term future will need relocation toward the growth area of Narellan/Camden area where exceptional growth is being realised. This, coupled with FNSW’s requirement of International Court procurement puts us in a position where we must start the long term strategic planning process to ensure our long term continued participation at the highest level in the best game of all.

Coaches have been selected for 2012-13 and good luck to them. Unfortunately the selection process did have some casualties with Dom and Tom deciding to move on. To those two Club stalwarts, I wish you both the best, and please accept my personal thanks for the years of dedication shown to the Quake family.

It would also be remiss at this point not to thank Carlos for his years of hard work and dedication to Quake. Carlos has decided the time has come to step aside and enjoy the fruits of his labours and become a spectator. Yeah, right that’s what he thinks!

This does however raise the importance of having a natural progression of Administrators ready to take over as people stand down from various roles, next year we will definitely need some new blood to step up to the plate.

In the long term I believe we need to set some relevant Administrative goals for the Club which should now concentrate on:

A) Review, create, implement administrative roles for the future

B) Find new long term home ground

Subject of course to review and discussion etc.

Kind regards

Paul Symington
