The Sydney AFL’s divisional structure sees North Shore spread far and wide this Saturday. Premier Division travel to Campbelltown, with Div 1 & Div 4 away at Macquarie Uni.
This Week’s Matches
Premier Division – v Campbelltown at Monarch Oval (Sat 2:10pm)
Division One – v Macquarie Uni at Macquarie Uni Oval (Sat 2:10pm)
Division Four – v Macquarie Uni at Macquarie Uni Oval (Sat 12pm)
Under 18s – Bye.
Monarch Oval
Monarch Oval is on Fields Road, next to Henderson Road, Macquarie Fields.
To get there, get on the M5 (if coming from the Gore Hill area, the Harbour tunnel and Eastern Distributor would be the best way; if from further north-west, the M2 and M7).
Keep going straight ahead past the M7 merge, the signs will point to Campbelltown.
Take the Brooks Rd exit at Ingleburn. At the roundabout, turn left onto Williamson Rd. Turn right at the second roundabout onto Henderson Rd.
Go straight ahead, taking the bridge over the railway line. Go straight ahead at the first roundabout after the railway line; and the oval will be visible from the second roundabout. Turn left into Fields Rd and enter the car park on the right.
Public transport is not good in that part of town. If you have to go by public transport, I’ve lucked out with finding any bus that goes anywhere near the ground on a Saturday; plus there’s trackwork on Saturday which sees the City Circle and Airport lines closed. If you’re without a car, your best bet would be to get on the phone to a team-mate or supporter and hitch a lift. Macquarie Fields is the nearest train station, but it’s a long walk.
Macquarie University Oval
Macquarie Uni Oval is at the eastern edge of the uni campus, at the end of Culloden Rd, North Ryde.
To get there from Gore Hill, head north along Pacific Highway and take the Longueville Rd exit. Go straight ahead along Epping Rd. Take the Lane Cove Rd exit, and turn right and get in the left lane.
Turn left at Talavera Rd. Keep going past Macquarie Centre shops, and you’ll notice the M2 on your right. After the shops, take the second bridge on your right onto Culloden Rd. Over the bridge is the car park.
There are frequent buses to Macquarie Shopping Centre, plus the train to Macquarie University Station; both of which are walking distance from the ground.

Our Opponents
Our seniors travel to Campbelltown, our second meeting with the Blues this year. Campbelltown are yet to win a game this year, but they’ll be hungry to break their duck and our Bombers will need to put in a strong four-quarter performance.
The clash at Gore Hill in April saw the Bombers record a big win by over 100 points; the fourth time in a row we’ve got a three-figure margin against them. We’ll be hoping the week’s rest will see our senior Bombers fresh and ready to go and play another strong game.
It’s the second time North Shore have played Mac Uni this year in Div 1 & Div 4; with the earlier meetings at Gore Hill seeing Div 1 get up in a thriller and Div 4 fight hard but go down.
Under 18s have back-to-back byes, and will have their third week off for the season.
Online Coverage
Score updates will be posted during the afternoon on the North Shore website (www.northshorefc.com.au). After the game, scorecards will be available on the fixtures/results tab.
