STAR Whorouly recruit Kyle Archibald may be asked to face the Ovens and King tribunal later this month pending the result of an investigation launched by the league last week.
The Ovens and King has appointed a VCFL investigation officer to investigate an incident which occurred in the third quarter of the Lions' round five clash with Greta.
The Blues initiated the investigation with the incident involving Archibald and Blues midfielder Chris Sherratt.
The VCFL investigation officer has 21 days to investigate the clash and will return his findings and recommendations to the league once completed.
Ovens and King general manager Zac Guilfoyle confirmed the investigation was under way.
"Once the investigation officer finishes his investigation, he will then make a recommendation of whether or not there is a case to answer.
"If he believes the case needs more work then he can apply for an extension to the Ovens and King."
Archibald is free to play for Whorouly while the investigation is being conducted.
