The Sandringham Football Club is holding a reunion for the 50 year anniversary of the amazing 1962 premiership victory.
The Grand Final will long be remembered by all who saw it and has to be one of the most exciting finishes in football history. Entering the last quarter 44 points down it looked as though Moorabbin would secure a long awaited flag however it was not to be – Bob Murray recaptured his aerial grace and long kicking ability and Sandy began to overhaul the deficit, with Sandy trailing by only 5 points big ruckman Laurie O’Toole snapped truly to give us the lead and Des Kennedy goaled soon after to ice the game and Sandy had pulled off one of the great Grand Final heists and probably still to this day the greatest win in the Clubs history.
Lunch will be served in the Social Club commencing at 12.15pm. A two course meal will be served @ $30 per person, with drinks available at bar prices.
Complimentary entry to the ground will be arranged for those who do not have a membership.
