Round 3, 2012 saw the Aspley Bulldogs wearing the brown and yellow for the first time, taking on the Sandgate Hawks in the Umpire’s Round. The game was a hard fought with both teams showing tremendous skills.
Patrick Ellis captained the side today and had a fantastic number of possessions. This week’s training focus will be to work on his Drop Punts. A big congratulations goes out to Patrick on taking out the prestigious McDonalds award.
The Bulldogs sorely missed Callum Rowe this week as he was out on the sick list. We look forward to his return next round.
Sam Edward’s marking was the highlight of his game this week and stopped many forward advances from the Sandgate Hawks. This week’s training focus is Run and Handball.
Carter Thomas showed endeavour to always be at the drop of the ball and fiercely won many possessions for the Dogs. This week’s training focus is the Run and Bounce.
Will Dodd held the Hornet’s backline strong, preventing many scoring shots and had a ripper of a game. This week’s focus will be on Ruck Roving Skills.
Zak Rinaldi this week showed he can kick a footy with great skill, delivering the ball to his Bulldog teammates. Focus this week at training will be on Being First to the Ball.
Matthew Kerrison had an outstanding game for the Bulldogs, preventing the Hawks from getting first use of the ball. This week’s focus will be Run and Handball.
Lorcan Field’s skill and endeavour to win the ball for the Hornets was outstanding and this week’s focus is Ruck Roving Skills.
Max Kerrison had an outstanding game today and with focus to deliver the ball quickly to his teammates will ensure we get many forward entries. This week’s training focus will be Quick Use of the Ball.
Hayden Banfield’s delivery by foot today was impeccable, with perfect spin on the ball to his teammates. This week’s focus is Left Hand Handballing.
