B Grade
A great game by the girls in very warm conditions but we coped well with the heat and the sweat in our eyes quite well. Breeza had a fantastic game showing her versatility from defence to the centre. Tayla had another ripper in the goals coping with the step up to B Grade very nicely. Nat again had some crucial intercepts in the centre with her speed to the ball being very handy. Soph kicked some butt in defence and even had a stint in goals, showing we have options, and Kim and Emily worked hard all day in defence. Molly drove hard onto the ring with some great feeds into Dani who consistently popped them in. Final score 41-32 against a determined Finley side. $30 Award went to Bre Flanagan, Lake Mulwala Sports Club Mug Award went to Tayla Smith, Brett James Coaches award to Nat Ferguson, and Lakeside Kebabs Award to Sophie Taylor.

A close first quarter saw both teams holding each others scores low. Welcome to Nat for her first game after an on court arm injury in a practice match, and welcome back to Courts after the National Ski Competition. With all nine girls together for the first time there were plenty of position changes and the girls really found their feet towards the end of the third quarter. They played a smashing fourth quarter goaling 10 to Finley’s 2. Well done girls with the final score 31-14.Yoox Award to Jess Thomson, Ash Blake Beauty Award to Tori Bennett, Yarrawonga Bakery Award to Kiandra Higgins and Kelz Kandy Koaches Award to Morgan Pitches.

This week was a very tight game, with a contest at every pass. Finley were a quality opposition with strong defence across the court, forcing the Mulwala girls to work hard this week. After a slow and sluggish start, the girls started to turn things around in the second half. Passing improved as did the intensity of play. Maddy Cookesy led the charge in the third quarter with plenty of turnovers. Hayli and Jordy provided strength once gain in defence. They were well supported by Alaina, Abbey and Ash through the centre court. Lauren and Chloe fought hard to capitalise on the many turnovers. Well done girls with our defensive throw-ins and set plays. Great to see you setting screens and playing your systems. Final score was 12-11. Salon One 2 One Award to Hayli Garner, Lake Mulwala Sports Club Award to Maddy Cookesy, McDonalds Award to Alaina Bruce, and Kelz Kandy Koaches Award to Ash Churchin.
