Thanks to everyone for their help at our first game of the season last weekend! The day went really smoothly, there were plenty of people in attendance, plenty of smiles on faces and the results weren’t too bad either.
On the field we had wins in the Thirds, A Grade and B Grade while the other five games were all very competitive.
The social function was a great success. The Aussie Spuds were sensational while the band, Who’s Throwing Coasters?’ were absolutely terrific! It was great to see so many people in the Social Rooms enjoying the evening – having footballers, netballers, members, supporters, partners and a huge number of kids all socialising together is what we are all about at Lakes Entrance and it was a wonderful way to kick off the season.
This week we travel to Lucknow to take on the Magpies. There should be plenty of action in the footy and netball and a number of close games are on the cards. Following the games and a drink with the opposition in their social rooms, we will be heading back to the Central for dinner and awards. This year Tyson has given us the Central Function Room each Saturday night so there is plenty of room for us all to sit together, bring the kids, have some dinner, listen to the awards and, hopefully, have a few celebratory drinks!
Don’t forget our next home game is a night game against Paynesville on Sat May 5th. The netball will be going all arvo, while the Reserves will start at 4pm and the Seniors under the lights at 6pm. It should be a great night and we look forward to seeing a bumper crowd at Lakes Entrance that night!
Go Seagulls!
