The day started with the under 18' scraping home by 5 points in a highly competitive game where the attack at each contest was hard and fair. Congratulations to both teams who continually applied pressure and great couage at each contest. The Magpies nearly let the Hawks take the points in the last quarter, but the Magpies showed great character to steady the ship and get home with the points.
The Reserves really started to play football after three quarter time and looked to be stunned by the fact another team was playing before them. They showed true grit to stay in with a chance and finally put it all together in the last quarter to run out winners on the day. Hey you have those days but you still manage to win, well done team.
The Seniors took another step top perfecting the 2012 game plan, with a strong start to finish performace. The pressure applied at every contest was the best seen for many years with Sandgate rarely getting room to move. The tackling and harrassment was top shelf. That defensive effort and the ball movement to the game plan resulted in a comfortable win over the Hawks.
