Welcome to what is already shaping to be an exciting 2012 season, building on the development and successes of last year.
Firstly, a huge welcome to our new players, families and supporters. We are sure you will find Mulwala Football Netball Club a vibrant club to be involved with. Also, a warm welcome back to our existing players, families and supporters.
Recruiting of new players has been kept to a minimum, instead relying on the development of juniors and our home grown talents making their way into the senior ranks. This year we have had many changes to our coaching staff, at all levels. Each coach has been selected on their merits and brings with them, a great wealth of experience to Mulwala. Our coaches spend a great deal of time and effort in preparing their teams, so make sure you give them all of the support they require for a successful year.
A great deal of effort is required each week to get close to 200 players on the court or field. Make sure you do your part in making this happen by supporting the players, coaches and club. From time to time you will be asked to assist with match day activities like time keeping, scoring etc. or on the canteen roster. These are all important roles in the functioning of your club. If you are unable to do so, organise a swap or see your team or canteen manager asap, preferably a week or so in advance.
In an extremely busy off season we have once again hosted a highly successful Cod Classic, assisted at the INXS concert, cleaned up after the Ski Shows, served and cleaned up at the extreme sports, to name just a few. Thank you to the vast multitude that helped out at these events, which contributed greaty to your club.
If you haven’t already taken out club membership make sure you do as there are lots of savings and benefits to be had. You also need to take out a Lake Mulwala Sports Club Membership, including juniors, which is our fully licensed clubroom. This is only $5 per person for a year’s membership.
Keep an eye out for this fantastic newsletter at each home game. Greg and Julie Wood put a huge effort into its production, featuring our young talent, we appreciate their efforts and the support of The Yarrawonga and Border Golf Club in its printing. Now the pre-season training and trials are behind us and the season has begun let’s make the most of all of the hard work. Together let’s make the Lions roar in 2012.
Go Lions
