The only downside with the first practise match against FTG was that it was on a Sunday afternoon as many of the boys will be feeling the effects of a first hit out fresh at work Monday morning.
But from the first bounce season 2012 couldn’t have got off to a better start. The boys were keen to make their first impressions on Ash a good one as everybody played their role and the game plan and structure held up really well.
Bouncing out to a early lead courtesy of the first 4 goals of the game, the boys were never headed leading at every change. Despite running out of a bench and having multiple players play more than 4 quarters over the day, we managed to show the benefits of a strong pre-season running out the game quite well.
Signs are really good and Sunday’s result will produce a lot of confidence in the group that the boys can bring into their next practise match and Round 1.
Go Leos.
