Calibre Community Connection
This week’s Calibre Community Connection award has been won by Lou Bavcar.
Lou is currently a volunteer at the North West Wanderers and has been contributing his time to the zone and the VCL for over two years.
According to the Wanderers’ parents, Lou is reliable, innovative and has been instrumental in providing the zone with everything it requires on game day and is always available to assist each of the team managers.
On game day, he’s usually the first to arrive and the last to leave – organising the running of the canteen, managing referees, cooking hotdogs during the day and left to clean up rubbish until 10pm.
He is now eligible to win the Calibre Community Connection Volunteer of the Year award to be announced at the VCL Gold Medal Night on Saturday 10 March 2012.
Lou has elected the Brunswick Zebras Soccer Club to receive the $300 Samba Sports voucher to invest in football equipment.

If you think there is someone at your zone who deserves recognition for their voluntary assistance to the zone and to football, you can nominate them by emailing sgallichio@footballfedvic.com.au and telling us about their outstanding contribution.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
