Michael Makes the Draft

Great news for the local region with news that former Penrith Swans and AFL NSW Scholarship player, Michael Hartley being selected as pick 87 in the AFL Rookie Draft by Collingwood.

Michael commenced his AFL playing career with the Swans in 2008 as a 14 year old. His natural talent was soon noticed and so rapidly became a Representative player for Greater Western Sydney regional, GSJ Starz and GSJ Pioneers.

As a rookie, it is expected that Michael will play most of his time for Collingwood in the VFL. Fingers crossed that he eventually gets to debut for the senior side and under the reign of past Magpie champion, Nathan Buckley.
