Dear Players, Parents and MUAFC Alumni,
It is with great pleasure that we introduce to you the 2012 Macquarie University Australian Football Club (MUAFC) Committee. The 2012 committee was elected by ballot vote held on Saturday October 8th at North Ryde RSL. The structure of the MUAFC Committee is as follows;
Club President, Club Vice Presidents (x2), Club Honorary Secretary, Club Honorary Treasurer (to be appointed), General Committee (x4).
Successful in his nomination and vote for Club President, Luke “Gammatron” Gemmill will continue in his second year at the helm of MUAFC. In his role, Luke will hold overall responsibility for the administration of the club; as well continue his career playing Division One football.
Successful in his nomination, Pete “Frenchy” Le Breton has been appointed to the role of Senior Club Vice President. Pete will act as deputy for Luke and undertake the Club President role in the absence of Luke. Stepping up to play Division One in season 2011, Pete will no doubt continue as a reliable tall in the Division One line-up.
Successful in his nomination, David “Marshy” Marsh has been appointed to the role of Junior Club Vice President. David will act as deputy for Luke and undertake the Club President role in the absence of Luke. A mainstay in the Division Three midfield, Marshy will be crucial as Division Three push for finals success in 2012.
Successful in his nomination, Matt “Chappo” Chaplin has been appointed to the role of Club Secretary. Chappo stepped up to this role half-way through 2011, and is responsible for running committee meetings, preparing correspondence and acts as the Public Officer of the Club as required by law. Chappo was Co-Captain of MUAFC’s Division Five side, stepping up to play Division Four towards the end of the season.
Elected to the positions of General Committee were Nathan “Jacko” Jackson, Liz Fassone, Ryan “Gilly” Gilchrist and Gavin “Guns” Nixon. Jacko and Liz are welcomed back as returning members of the MUAFC General Committee, with Gilly and Guns being newly appointed through successful nominations.
Shortly we’ll be announcing our coaching appointments for 2012, which along with our incoming committee are extremely excited about. So, as our December pre-season training wraps up, we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and a safe New Year.
