Ed McDonnell took and extended break over the 2011 pre-season and missed the start of the season which he had intended not to play but a case of itchy feet was the catilyst to an outstanding season that saw him win the Bill Peirce Medal.
McDonnell took the award ahead of runner up Ben Heffernan-Roper 2009 the Bill Pierce Medalist who returned to the club after a season for Subiaco in the WAFL in 2010 and started 2011 at Morningside before deciding to return home to Chelmer.
Most Consistent and third best and fairest was the evergreen Tim Mcevoy who had an outstanding season and could be cosidered unlucky having played nearly every game for the season.
McDonnell in his true modesty said he was very humbled and honoured to be in the company of those to win the award previously and to win the medal struck in the name of one of the clubs greatest players.
The rest of the 2011 winners are listed below for all grades.
