EASTER looks set to be a busy time for the Ovens and King Football Netball League with three clubs putting in applications to host matches on either Good Friday or Easter Saturday.
Bonnie Doon president Terry Dale earlier this week expressed the club's desire to host a match on Good Friday after missing out this season.
But the Doon Dogs aren't the only clubs after Easter matches with both Bright and King Valley keen to take advantage of the tourist weekend numbers.
Ovens and King general manager Zac Guilfoyle said it was up to the league's board of management to provide the Doon Dogs with an Easter match.
"All clubs have made requests and they have been taken into account," he said.
"Bonnie Doon has a tough time fixturing with Mansfield down there but Easter is a massive marquee game for them.
"Whether or not they get a game on Easter Saturday or Good Friday will be up to the board of management.
"It will also depend on the agreement of the opposition club."
King Valley enjoyed an Easter clash with Tatong earlier this season while Bright used to meet Greta in an annual Easter clash and is keen to get back involved.
"Bright is also a huge tourist destination at Easter and it has also put in an application to host an Easter Saturday game," Guilfoyle said.
"King Valley has also applied for an Easter game.
"We need to find opposition who are happy to play at that time."
Guilfoyle also said the league had introduced a new policy this season, giving clubs the chance to send in a "wish list" of what they would like to receive in the 2012 draw.
But while he hoped to accommodate most requests, Guilfoyle said nothing was guaranteed.
"We have a new fixture policy, which gives clubs the chance to put their requests in before the fixture is completed," he said.
"Some clubs want to play Sunday games against traditional rivals, some want home games on specific weekends and obviously Easter is big for a couple of clubs.
"Nothing is guaranteed but we will make every effort to acknowledge requests."
Guilfoyle said the league was hoping to get a draft of the draw out to clubs in the next fortnight so they could provide feedback.
