It is with regret that the Club wishes to inform all members and supporters of the passing of former 1964 Premiership player Robbie Freyer.
Robbie played 109 games kicking 101 goals with the club between 1958-65 winning the Best 1st Year Player 1958, 3rd Best & Fairest & Most Effective player 1960, Most Unselfish Player 1962, Best & Fairest 1963, Best Player in Final Series 1964.
Robbie was named on a half forward flank in the Team of the Century with his player profile reading:
"Son of Ted (1928-45) & father of Darren (1983), Taller, slimmer and more athletic than his father. Also more versatile, being equally at home in the centre or on the ball as well as excelling in his usual position of half forward flank. A classy, well balance, smooth moving player who could mark in a pack, scout the loose ball or open up the opposition with deft handball. Also had excellent delivery"
Our sincere condolences to the Geraldine, Sharon & Darren.
