Well the memories are entrentched and the celebrations simmering after the Noosa Tigers produced back to back PHC flags 2 weeks ago. In fact the celebrations of a simply superb year by all involved continue this saturday night from 6pm as the 2011 Presentation night awaits.
And whilst such nights are usually reserved to applaud the great individual performances of a year just gone,no doubt this one will still be seen and appreciated for the team efforts of our senior group in 2011. To be crowned a club champion or best and fairest in a premiership year has always been looked upon as a momentus honour in AFL circles.So the question arises,who will be the 2011 noosa tigers club champion?Heres some of the players who i think will be well and truly in the running;
Luke Matthews-the 2011 league medallist and MVP has had another outstanding year on ball.his finals series a major reason why the tigers could acheive premiership glory.He brings players into the game with his elusiveness and his hardness across the contest has no peer at the tigers.
Danny Brewster- 88 goals for the season and just so eyecatching with his strength nad presence around the ball.Great skills for a big man who continued his great form through the finals series also.
Caleb Isles- Last years club champion and twice winner has again been magnificent.started many a game on the bench but was soon in the thick of action gaining plenty of possession.A couragous hard working champion rover who will be right up there in 2011.
Tom McKittrick- Back to back flag heroe who was installed into the middle this year with much success.Was very consistent,had a great GF and had a fantastic 5 week period in the early stages that should see him poll considerably.Winner of this years media award also.
Owen Bailey-The ex maroochy player was a model of consistency.His run and carry through the midfield a constant and a very big reason behind noosas success.
Adam Bovalino-the skippers last 2 or so months were nothing short of brilliant culminating in yet another fantastic finals series.Will certainly poll well late and has a history of finding votes over his 5 years at weyba rd.
For the reserves,I`d have to go with 2nds league medal winner Wulfy however I`d expect Ryley Buntain and tassie David Welch to be around the mark.
Should be a great night,this saturday at the clubrooms from 6pm.
What a year.Go tigers
