The Lady Blues were held goaless for three and a half quarters as the Lady Roos showed they could not only attack but also defend. Laura Gibbs up front had another excellent day kicking three goals including one bouncing effort from just past halfway. Julia Wall-Clarke worked hard all day in the ruck winning the ball from stoppages. Ashley Walker showed her versatility by moving to the back line and put on a punishing display to lock out the Blues goal scorers. There were winners in nearly every position, Laura Betancourt, Terri Iwaskow and Kristen King in the back line, Alie Madeley, Ariel Korman, Maddie and Selina Amaral wrapped up the centre line with another fine display and Genevieve Kang, Erin Quinn (returnning from injury) and Liana Wong provided excellent support to the goal kicking of Laura Gibbs.
Overall a fantastic game, fought with a great amount of spirit. Well done Lady Roos to improve to defeat the most dominant team in the competition - the best is yet to come. Let's get ready to win the Grand Final.
