HEART, courage and the will to win they are the intangibles of football.
No one knows where they come from, or how to manufacture them, but we all know when we see them.
All three attributes were on display at Moyhu yesterday afternoon as Tarrawingee held off a Milawa side most believed had one hand on the premiership cup.
After three quarters of back and forth the Bulldogs led by 21 points, but given 14 of the 18 goals kicked had been scored at the northern end of the ground the end Milawa would be kicking towards in the final term the result was well and truly up for grabs.
Kyle Simpson one of the Bulldogs' best players on the day had to be helped from the ground with what looked a serious ankle injury five minutes into the final term.
When Scott Gardner goaled from a stoppage in Milawa's forward pocket moments later the margin was reduced to 13 points and the Demons looked set to go on with the job.
But Anthony McGuire, Daniel Lewis and Ryan Hussey all missed chances to nail majors, and when the Bulldogs got the ball moving the other way they made no mistake.
Daniel Salmon hit up Mick Naish, who in turn bombed the ball deep into attack where an inspired Daniel McCullough latched onto it from the middle of a pack of players.
