The Curra Swans Colts side have won the Farley Cup with a hard fought 22 point win over the Bulldogs in the 2011 decider.
After the disappointment of the weekend the Swans faithful returned to the stadium to cheer on the Colts team in Wednesday nights Farley Cup Grand Final.
The Swans went into the game as favourites having only lost 2 matches all year. However it was their Grand Final opponents the Bulldogs who had inflicted those losses. The Bulldogs would have come into the match with a firm belief they could cause an upset but thankfully for the Swans their belief in themselves was stronger.
It was evident earlier that the match would be hard fought and only a solitary goal to the Swans was scored in the opening term.
Curra kicked up notch after the break and added a further 3 goals while keeping the Bulldogs goalless for the second quarter in a row. This turned out to be the crucial quarter as the Bulldogs matched the Swans for the rest of the match and in fact outscored the Premiers by 2 points but the damage was done in the first half and we went on to score a well deserved 22 point victory.
Young Dominic Stout-Milkens capped off a remarkable year by winning the Wes Night Medal for best on ground.
Well done to Nealo, Gwynne and the boys on a fantastic result.
