U15 Gold (Div 1) Grand Final Preview
Many nervous players and parents will travel to the Grand Final at Highett Reserve this Sunday feeling that after being undefeated for the season it could still all go terribly pear shaped with a loss. And we will be tempting fate as the boys have won 18 games in a row if you include the two practice games.
Notwithstanding that the boys have managed to beat Hampton by a bigger margin on each of the four occasions they have played them this season it will be a very tough game as it always is. Hampton easily accounted for East Brighton in the Preliminary Final on Sunday and are desperate for another crack at the Mighty Knights. The Knights total winning margin over Hampton for the four games is 111 points and the boys will be desperate to maintain the trend.
Coaches Horne and Kenyon will be urging the boys to put on their best display not only in front of the Sandy Dragons coaches but to make sure the dads have something to celebrate fathers day in addition to the customary handkerchiefs. Just like a prime minister never misses an AFL grand final day East Malvern current and also former presidents will be there so that we can all hope to celebrate an East Malvern Premiership.
The boys have all had a fantastic season and we wish them all the best on a victory that they would all truly deserve. So if any East Malvern parents and players could come down to watch the game before their fathers day lunch it would be much appreciated and hopefully watch the boys slay the Hampton Dragon.
Go Knights!!
