Ainslie came up against top side the Sydney Swans Reserves in the final home and away game.
In perfect conditions at Ainslie Oval Sydney had the better of the first quarter to lead by 21 points at quarter time. Ainslie responded in the 2nd quarter kicking 4 goals to 2 to close the gap to 15 points at half time.
After half time the contest was tight until half way through the 3rd quarter when the Swans were able to break clear and set up a lead of 34 points at the last break. Ainslie kept battling hard and again closed the gap in the final quarter to end up losing by 24 points.

The two teams meet again this week in the Semi-Final at Manuka Oval.
The Reserves team began well in the game against Gungahlin to establish a 40 point lead at quarter time. Gungahlin responded and it was an even contest for the next 2 quarters before Ainslie broke away in the last quarter to run out winners by 73 points.
Final score: Ainslie 17.20-122 def Gungahlin 7.7-49
The Reserves finished in 2nd place and will meet top side Queanbeyan in the Semi Final to be played at Manuka on Saturday.
The U18s season came to a close as it was well defeated by Marist in the final round.

The Womens team played off in the Elimination Final against Tuggeranong. In a tight low scoring game Ainslie led by 4 points at the final break but could not sustain the effort and Tuggeranong were able to kick 2 goals to zero in the last quarter to win by 8 points.
Final score: Ainslie 4.2-26 def by Tuggeranong 5.4-34
Ainslie had 4 teams involved in the Junior Preliminary Finals. The U16 Div 1 team had a good victory over Marist winning by 47 points to proceed through to the Grand Final.
The U14 Div 1 team were down by 19 points at 3 quarter time in a high standard game. Ainslie had a good final quarter kicking 3.1 to 5 points but were unable to close the gap going down by 5 points.
The U12 Div 1 team also turned in a good performance and led Queanbeyan at 3 quarter time but were unable to sustain it and were beaten by 7 points.
The Youth Girls team played Weston Creek and in a very tight game won by 4 points to proceed through to the Grand Final on Sunday against Tuggeranong.
