The Reserves won on Saturday and will now play in the Grand Final on Sept 10th at Epping. In what was again a tight struggle against Watsonia for the majority of the game the Redbacks were able to use fresh legs on the big ground to advantage and power away in the last quarter to win by 20 points. Dylan Collins got the Panton Hill side off to a good start with a goal from a set shot, John Garrard was proving a hand full but it was the fresh legs of Dom Bee, Matthew Layt, Brendon Long and Brett Aldred who all went through the midfield that was the difference. Dylan Collins continued to provide a contest throughout the game but it was Brendon Long who won the contested ground level ball on so many occasions that gave the Panton Hill forwards the best opportunity to score. The backline lead by Lucas Brasse was solid and was able to prevail under intense pressure at times. Jack LeGassick and Ty Dummett gave a solid body presence in defence while Shannon Darcy- Molloy and Andrew Schadendorff provided the run and carry. The weeks rest will enable the Hills to refresh and work on some minor detail before Grand Final day for the first time in last 50 years. Good Luck Hillers!
