It doesn`t get much bigger than this weekend at Weyba rd. Friday night sees our under 18s hold their best and fairest count and presentation night, Sunday sees junior preliminary finals for the entire AFL Sunshine Coast and Saturday of course sees the Noosa Tigers up against Gold Coast heavyweights Palm Beach in a game that sees the winner advance to the PHC Grand Final. Palmy finished a couple of goals ahead of a fast finishing Western Magpies last weekend in Brisbane to earn the right to play top of the table table Noosa this saturday. A mouthwatering duel indeed with a 1 all head to head after the home and away fixtures.
At their last meeting it was Palmy by 6 goals on the Gold Coast but the Tigers are fresh and ready to imprress what should be a huge home town crowd. Barometer ruckman Peter Trompf will return to the Noosa side who all in all look at full strength. Along with Trompf,it will be the likes of Matthews, Brauer, McKittrick, Bailey and Bovalino who will provide heaps of drive for the Tigers with of course Brewster,Frew and Mills keys in the forward half.
Personally I think the Tigers are well placed to advance to their 3rd straight PHC decider.
Don`t miss it and remember a gate fee will apply and alcohol will not be permitted to be brought in to the ground. A can bar will be set up at the Weyba Rd end of the ground so all set for a ripper day of local footy.
The Under 18s vote count should be an interesting affair with Jono freeman,Dom waterman ,Dillion Murray and Caine tickner all expected to feature highly.A special mention to Caine tickner who last week was invited to complete an AIS AFL camp with only the best prospects in the land offered this opportunity. And also to jono freeman and Riley buntain who have both played several game for the Brisbane lions reserves recently. Both ofcourse have had senior experience with the tigers in 2011 with Buntain pressing hard for a Senior berth this weekend.Good luck to all noosa juniors competing in finals this weekend and a big congrats to neighbours pomona who last weekend took out their first ever senior flag winning the div nth 3rd division.
Go the noosa tigers and see you down at weyba rd on Saturday. Can`t wait!
