Mercy Rule Adjustments to scores for Round 1 – 13 in Under 11 – 13 competitions have now been updated on sporting Pulse.
MSJFL By-Laws
30. “Mercy Rule” in U/11 to U/13
The official winning margin in U/11 to U/13 matches shall be no more than 60 points. Where the actual winning margin is greater than 60 points, the General Manager shall ensure that the winning team’s score is reduced so that the official margin is 60 points, and the adjusted score shall be used for the ladder percentage calculations.
(MSJFL By-Laws p.25)
Due to complications with the Sporting Pulse systems prior to Round 13, all mercy rule adjustments up until round 13 have been made by adjusting the losing teams score up so the winning margin was 60 points. This was opposite to the MSJFL By-Laws ‘Section 30, at the time it was the only method which the system would allow the league to enter the data.
This glitch in the system has now been corrected and now allows the MSJFL to reduce the winning teams scores (leaving the losing teams score as is). All mercy rule adjustments have now been corrected in line with section 30 of the MSJFL By-Laws. All ladders have been rebuilt to include correct percentages. The MSJFL apologise for any confusion this has created.
