MASTERS MATCH REPORT SANDGATE VS ASPLEY 24/7/11
Last weekend the Masters were home against our foes Aspley. Sandgate were without quite a few regular players, with mates either injured, overseas or other coaching or social commitments.
Sangate kicked 4 goals in the first quarter (Middy,Fev,Steve and Butch). The centre group were playing well with Butch frequently delivering large kicks to our forward line and Middy taking strong marks in defence and pushing through to our forward line as well.
Newcomer Mark Banks was having a great game in defence and all backs were well organised by big Dave Bennet and Nicko.More goals kicked in the remaining quarters by Middy, Steve, Butch, Phil and Craig saw us pull away from Aspley in the 3rd and final quarters. Paul Timms had a blinder against some of his old mates, as did Steve Alvisio.
The team work in the last half was well noticed by coaching staff at the end of the game, and we are all looking forward to our next game against Moorooka at home.
Final score
Sandgate 67 Aspley 44.
