The Harvey World Noosa Tigers are at the top of the ladder with only 2 rounds to go in thew 2011 PHC premiership race. Thanks to a solid finishing 41 point victory over previous ladder leaders sandgate in brisbane last saturday.
In fact for 3 quarters scores were extremely tight even though the noosa boys seem to be controlling the game. Innaccurate kicking for goal in the blustery conditions certainly didn`t help. Noosa's backline were superb the entire day with Panaho and bovalino in particular repelling and providing plenty of rebound up the ground.
Brewster again was the difference up forward with 4 goals whilst Evil Duke, Bocky eady. Nick jones and the ever consistent Owen bailey impressive for the victors.Simply more run in the legs of the very fit and well drilled noosa outfit was the telling factor in the end as the seahawks had sloewed to a hault.
A top contest though between 2 certain finals contenders with the defending premiers now needing wins over Cooly and Mayne to ensure top spot and a vital home 2nd semi final.Never an easy game travelling down to cooly but I`m sure the boys will be on knowing the importance of the result.A massive month of footy coming up for the noosa tigers.
Great win for Jas Sherrifs Noosa reserves over top team Sandgate to keep their slim but available finals hopes alive.Tickner, Hendrie, Wulf, Sawers and Winter all catalysts of the win in a very good even team effort.2 from 2 and you never know boys!
Just a reminder to all footy followers in the noosa district that we do host the 3rd grade preliminary final between Pomona and maroochydore tis saturday from 2pm so plenty of good footy to have a look at.
Go tigers!
Whos hot!
Tiger captain Adam Bovalino.Thats who.The skipper has been in super form over the past 7 or 8 weeks and looks set to have another big finals campaign as he did last year. His leadership and run off half back a big reason why the tigers are in the position they are.
