AFL Victoria has awarded the Avondale Heights Football Club Gold Level Accreditation for the next three seasons under the AFL Quality Club Program.
Special guests at the presentation that was made by Darryl Collings Club Development Manager of AFL Victoria included Marc Turri and Ian Price from the EDFL, Len Villani from the Calder Cannons, City of Moonee Valley mayor John Sipek and fellow ward councillors Shirley Cornish and Ange Kenos.
This accreditation is awarded to clubs who can demonstrate they manage football club environments that are conducive to fun, safe, fair and importantly, inclusive. Our football club is the fifth club out of over 2000 clubs in Victoria to achieve this level of accreditation. Gold Level is the highest awarded level and is recognition of exceptional club administration.
The club has undertaken a number of initiatives that not only highlight the professionalism of administrating the football club, but also focus on player education and welfare and programs that engage the local community.
The Club committee worked hard over the last nine months to become the first club in the Essendon District Football League to be awarded Gold Level accreditation and setting a benchmark for other football clubs in the EDFL.
By obtaining the Gold Level accreditation, it demonstrates that the club is fully committed to providing the best possible football environment and the community with a safe haven to enjoy their footy.
The accreditation is a terrific endorsement for the work carried out by the committee as well as being an endorsement for players and parents of junior players looking for an excellent football club to be a member of.
