The Lismore Swans may have had a few key players out for this match however this was no excuse for such a disappointing performance. Conditions were very very wet and cold however kicking 1 goal in 3 and a half quarters of football is in no way to procuce a competitive performance by any means. After Saturdays display the team as a whole needs to have a real hard look at them selves, regroup, and start playing some real football. Only 3 more matches before finals, a lot of hard work will need to be put into the next few weeks if the Swans want to be competitive and a force in the finals.
In very wet and sloppy conditions the Swans were able to get the ball to the half forward line and trap the ball for long periods of time however were unable to convert on the scoreboard. The Swans experienced conjestion up forward however when Ballina cleared the ball out of the backline, open spaces provided them with plenty of room to work with driving the ball over the Swans backman for some easy goals.
All in all a very ordinary game by the Lismore team and will need to turn things around for next weekends game against Byron in Bangalow.
Best on the day were Angus Legoe, Rowan Hindry, Daniel Bruce, Ethan Lenson, Tom Waters, Dean Webb
Single goal kickers today to Dean Webb, Will Kent and Daniel Bruce
Final score Lismore 3.7-25 to Ballina 8.15-63
