A Grade
The A grade game saw Wy Yung go out flying, gaining an early lead before Lakes found its feet as the quarter progressed to draw level by the first break.
The rest of the match was hard fought with every possession counting but Wy Yung managed to gain a four-goal break by three quarter time and hold onto this margin to win a great contest, 36-32.
Best players for Lakes were Abbey Sproule and Jacqui James.
B Grade
Wy Yung started strongly with Lakes taking a quarter to settle into with an unfamiliar line up.
After the first break things started to gel with Lindy Bills and Cindy Beha's experience providing some great highlights in the goal circle.
The second half saw some great defensive work from Marissa McKean, Pip Lee and Mieka Pitt, restricting Wy Yung's scoring opportunities. Pitt was taking every rebound opportunity and feeding centre players Abbey Paten, Ebony Mahlook and Sam Beha well.
Strong play from the entire team gained them a great win against the number one side by 16 goals, 46-30.
C Grade
In wet and windy conditions, it wasn't a great day for netball. A few outs for the regular C grade side saw the inclusion of sisters Monica Davidson and Jasmine Witham.
The first half was very low scoring with both teams struggling to hang on to a wet ball. Wy Yung taking a five-goal lead at half time.
A few changes to both teams line-ups at half time saw Lakes bring the margin back to three at the last break. As hail came down and the rain continued in the last both teams battled hard with Wy Yung eventual seven-goal winners.
Best players for Lakes were Caitlin Hack and Jasmine Witham.
C Reserve
The C Reserve side put in a much more competitive effort this week against top of the table Wy Yung.
Meaghan Grandy worked tirelessly in the centre and was well supported by Leanne Murray, Monica Davidson and Sigrid Dostine through the mid court.
Lakes gained the lead in the second quarter but a great third term from Wy Yung saw it set up a five-goal win.
Best players were Meaghan Grandy and Sigrid Dostine.
D Grade
Lakes and Wy Yung both went into this game undefeated. Lakes was without experienced player Claudia Reggardo this week and missed the drive she provides across the court.
Claudia's absence allowed her teammates to play in a number of positions with youngsters Maddi Grandy and Jamieson Chester showing great improvement in their game.
Wy Yung proved it is the team to beat extending its lead in every quarter in difficult conditions. Lakes fought the game out until the end eventually going down by 17.
Best players were Maddi Grandy and Nicki James.
