Under 18's- Portland kicked into a strong breeze in the first term, but with deft movement of the ball, they outscored the home side by a couple of goals to be sitting in a reasonable comfortable position at the 1st break. With the wind at their backs, the Tigers took a stranglehold on the game in the 2nd quarter. Winning handsomely in most positions they pushed forward regularly and the even spread of goal kicked reflected the dominance they exerted on the contest. Drenching rain ruined the game as a spectacle, but Portland stuck to their task and despite West getting a couple of goals late in the 3rd quarter, the visitors took a 43 point lead into the last term. This lead expanded after a spate of goals from the lively attack and Portland cruised to a 70 point victory. Good players were everywhere, but those judged to be top of the stack were, Brody Fishwick, Taylor Vaughan, Jordan Kane, Zane Wakely, Ben Malcolm and Dylan Ban.
Final Scores : Portland 13- 13 = 91
West Gambier 3 - 3 = 21
Reserves - Kicking into the breeze, Portland more than matched the opposition with their persistent attack, on the ball and were only a goal down at the first break. Despite having plenty of possession in the 2nd term, the Tigers fritted away their chances, whilst West fully capitalised on their occasional foray's into attack. This resulted in West having the luxury of a 15 point buffer at the main break. Some not so very diligent defending let West in for a couple of goals in the 3rd term and enabled them to slip out to a handy 27 point margin at the last chance. The Tigers staged a last minute revive, but for all their efforts they couldn't and quick bridge the gap, in - a team of valiant batlers, the best players were Telvern Onus, David Kennedy, Lester Hall, Matt Huppatz, Andrew Symons and Justin Van Heugten.
Final Score : Portland 8 -8 = 56
West Gambier 9 - 6 = 60
Seniors- West made full use of the breeze in the 1st term and despite the heavy conditions seemed to make light work of the opposition. Portland had plenty of posession winners, but there seemed to be no productive result. The situation didn't improve for the Tigers in the 2nd quarter, as West continued to dominate the game with their strong bodies clearing the ball at stoppages and setting up numerous scoring chances, thus enabling them to surge to a big lead of 34 points at the half - time interval. A couple of positional changes by the Tigers seemed to revive their fortunes, Coach Holt positioned himself on the backline and set up many moves that proved productive. Elsewhere, Saunders was lively. Hayse was a worthy focal and the Tigers got within 3 goals. Yet West rebounded and finished off the quarter in style leading by 32 points at the final changeover. It
went goal for goal in the last term, with Portland not able to make any real headway and West meeting all challenges. Good performers for Portland were Cam Mather (unbeatable across half back) Heath Brown( worked hard ), Jarrod Hayse (4 goals in difficult circumstances) Daniel Falcone (another polished effort) Jason Saunders ( very active) and Matt Herbertson (Honest trier)
Final Scores : Portland 10 - 14 =74
West Gambier 15 - 14 = 104
