Women and girls are essential to the fabric of our game, and have been for over 150 years.
The AFL is committed to providing information and pathways for women and girls to be involved in Australian Football. The involvement of women and girls in Australian football is critical to the overall growth and development of our game.
Ensuring sporting environments are safe, inclusive and welcoming for women and girls is an important step in encouraging greater participation in Australian Football.
This means ensuring:
- There are clear expectations about acceptable behaviour
- Facilities and activities are accessible
- Women and girls are encouraged to participate in different roles at the football club
- There is a commitment at all levels to achieve these outcomes
